Swimsuit Takeover

First of all….did you know that it’s an end of and era for Victoria Secret swimsuit line? Say what…?!? The lingerie giant is reportedly taking away their swimwear by the end of the year in favor of expanding the brands activewear. Hurry up and get them while they last. Before you know it, they will be long gone.  Adidos, swimwear!

Ok let’s move on.. Since swimsuit weather is just around the corner, (or maybe you’ve already been in one) I thought what perfect timing to blog about them!

Between boobs, booty, and belly-every woman has some sort of bathing-suit issue. From anything from a pear shape, plus size, large bust, curvy figure, to a straight body, an athletic build and even tummy concealing.  I’ve got all the tricks on the perfect swimsuit that best fits your body type.

Let’s start with pear. The key to the perfect swimsuit is balancing your proportions and getting the coverage you need for your bottom half. Choose patterned, flowy or even bright tops to balance your hips.  You look great in high- waisted bottoms (that style will help lengthen your legs). Avoid bikini bottoms with side ties that fall on the hips as this will draw attention to that area and make you look bigger.

Large Bust: If your chesty and require more support then I’ve found the perfect fit for you. Opt for suits with underwire or molded cups to support the girls. Halter tops, thick straps and higher backs are also a good fit for you. Avoid ruffles and embellishments if your wanting to minimize the chest.

Athletic Build: Flaunt that hot bod off yours with less coverage. It helps to create the illusion of a shapelier figure. Try tops and bottoms with bold colors, prints, cut outs, and feminine flair.

Tummy Concealing: Whether you prefer to be covered up or wanting to slim your middle, there are a number of one-piece and even two-piece suits that will help smooth out your middle. Look for high-waisted or tankini styles. Finding a wrap silhouette trims the waist with its crossover fabrics.

Curvy: For curvy frames, the key is to highlight your curves while providing enough support and coverage. Steer away from string bikinis with thicker ties, it can accentuate your widest areas. Think high waists and boxy halter tops.

Plus size: You should focus on drawing the eye downward with flowing designs and styles. Choose prints over solids, as solids will draw more attention to your body. Swim dresses and all-over print one-peice suits are a great fit for you.

Straight body: Either fake some curves or take full advantage of the fact you have nothing to hide and wear a skimpy style. Enhance your boobs and butt with ruffles, gathering or padding. Go ahead and flaunt your figure in an itsy bitsy teenie weenie yellow polka dot bikini!!

So that about sums it up guys! Hope you all feel confident and beautiful in those swimsuits this summer. Next up, I’ll talk about cover ups.  Stay tuned….!
